Corrosion Detection in Ships

Corrosion prevention, detection, and repair is an essential component of ship maintenance throughout their service life. InspecTerra’s unique iCAMM technology avoids the removal of insulation, deck covering and interference items in order to effectively characterize the corrosion of the supporting steel plating.

Rail Flaw Detection

Rail track breaks caused by internal defects represent a leading cause of train derailments in North America. InspecTerra is developing a frontline engineering platform to assess rail integrity using the iCAMM technology. Because the method does not require direct rail contact, it is much faster and more reliable for flaw detection, resulting not only in significant cost savings, but also increased safety of the railways.

Surface and Underground Pipeline Inspection

Surface and underground pipelines are used extensively for the transportation of petroleum products (e.g., oil and gas). InspecTerra's iCAMM technology can be used to locate defects (e.g., corrosion, pitting, and cracking) of underground pipes from the ground surface. The method is also not impacted by the presence of surface coverings, such as coatings or insulation.

Storage Tank Inspection

Corrosion is the primary cause of leakage of steel storage tanks. InspecTerra's iCAMM technology is capable of detecting the location and extent of corrosion both externally or from the inside of the tank. This allows the inspection of the bottom (or floor) of the tank, which would be difficult to do using conventional NDT methods.
