Four main categories in oil and gas exploitation area are: Geosciences, Transport Sciences, Thermodynamics, and Geomechanics. Geomechanics importance became more obvious recently because of challenges in new project such as viscous or immobile oils, higher temperature, pressures and depth, weak reservoir formations, intense fracture, or highly compressible reservoirs. For example, a very good Geomechanics understanding is necessary to have a better mathematical simulation and predictions in order to enhance recovery from a thermal viscous oil exploitation plan with reduced environmental impact.
